On 18 November, the West Alexandria Court (Circuit 47- Workers) ruled to reject Appeal No. 746/81 and upheld a lower court ruling that had denied the workers' petition to dissolve the union committee of Alexandria Container and Cargo Handling (AC&CH)company employees.

Lawyers from the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights (EIPR), representing Yousry Ma'rouf, an employee of the company, had filed the lawsuit requesting the dissolution of the union committee citinng numerous legal violations. Such violations include failure to convene the regular general assembly at the times required by law (at least once a year), since 2022, which undermined the assembly's role in overseeing the union committee by monitoring its final accounts, annual budget, and audit reports issued by the Central Auditing Authority, in violation of Article 30 of the Trade Unions Law.

On 30 January, the Court of First Instance dismissed the case, as well as petitions filed by 12 other workers with the same demand, prompting EIPR to appeal the ruling.
